Brooks Trading Course social media communities
Hi there, I have been studying the Brooks trading Course since January (Books and online Course) and finished about 1 month ago, I am now fully trading (low risk size). While trading I find my self in a good place, understanding what is happening and why, and most of the days I ended up profitable. My struggle has been while I am not trading, this thoughts of failure and not being able to provide fill my mind and give me anxiety for the next trading session.
I am hoping that this is a normal thing and with experience it goes away… With this post I am not hopping for a miracle answer that will make me feel amazing. However, I am looking for achievements steps that will help me reach a better state of mind when not trading.
Meditation is the answer, for me anyway. Simply having a meditation exercise, where watching the breath, focusing complete attention and awareness on the breath, and the discipline to do this for at least 30 minutes a day have created very consistent results. The results of this exercise are, calmness, clarity of mind, ability to stay focused for long periods of time, and an ability to accept the risk and uncertainty of the markets. Very simple exercise that will produce life changing results. The problem for most people in general, is that they can't sit still, completely alone for even 5 minutes. Give it a try!

Trading is a pretty cerebral activity with a lot of sitting (in case you don't use a standing desk etc.)
Meditation can have good effects, but then you are sitting again, and sometimes gets you in your head even more, in case you fail to keep your attention on you breath for example. And stillness will usually make your thoughts and emotions become more present in your awareness.
So I would say it's important to do enough physical movement and exercise every day to get out of your head, into your body and let your energy flow so that your thoughts and emotions automatically get better regulated. You can do most meditation practices even while moving. Also, meditation after running or exercising can work very well. Anyhow, balance between body and mind, sitting still and moving is key here, I believe. Thoughts of failure and feelings of anxiety are normal human experiences that don't need to be avoided or suppressed, they just need healthy outlets and regulation.
Compliments to your fast study pace, btw. Being profitable most of the days is already a big accomplishment which will naturally ease down the anxiety and thoughts, the longer you keep being profitable.

I am also chocked with the immediate profits and understanding of what is going on when trading, although it is really low size, studying 6-7 hours a day (taking notes and rereading, not just ease through the information) it is paying off. Hope when I increase size continues this way. 😀
