Is anyone else getting completely eaten alive by the price action the last few days?
I'm finding range days completely impossible to trade unless you have a ton of money and can just constantly scale in.
I made one stupid mistake for a $500 loss buying 2 contracts at the close of bar 2 trying to scalp 5 points then sat on my hands feeling bitterly resentful about the price action for the rest of the first half of the day. Patience paid off it was a highly profitable end to the day.
Some words of wisdom from Al were echoing in my head:
"You'll become successful as a trader if you filter out all the mistakes. You need to stop doing dumb things. Stupid mistakes wipe out the good trades. Sometimes doing nothing is the best thing. Wait for the market to become clear."
[This is paraphrasing not a direct quote but all things I've heard him say]
This volatility makes the ES chart look ridiculous most of the time now ! Huge bars, back and fourth across the ema ! Just not much fun lately. I have been trading for a long time so still make money but I lately switched to Euro, British Pound, and Canadian futures on the five minute chart ! very relaxing and calm one sided trends without all the smashing up and down all day.
Hi everyone, I am new here. I have done the Thomas Kralow course and I am trading live now for past 4 months. I love Al brooks and doing the course. Lately from past 3 months the 5 minute charts are very choppy and impossible to trade for me and have led me into losses. I am a beginner trader, i demo traded for 6-7 months and had a win rate of 32% with a RR of 3.5:1. But recently due to choppy market, I have fallen to 22% with RR 3:1.
My questions is, is it just me or the 5 minute charts these days are impossible to trade for swing traders?

If that were the case, we here would've been out of business by now, wouldn't we? 😉
