Any idea how I could do this?
The ruler tool on the left is the closest I've found, which you can invoke by pressing SHIFT and then clicking on the chart, but two problems:
- You draw the lines, but they disappear as soon as you click somewhere in the chart.
- They come with a big block of unnecessary text containing price labels.
Thanks in advance.
Found it (as I usually do straight after asking a question):
Hover mouse over the left menu of "Gann and Fibonacci tools" on the left, then click on the little right arrow, then choose "Fib Retracement". Or just click ALT+F 😊
Get rid of all lines except 0, 0.5 and 1.
Make them all the same colour and slightly thick.
Take out all texts and labels.
Yea I did that and starred it also so it sits on the chart at all times and I can just click it instead of Alt F or going over to the side bar. Helps alot, especially when your constantly clicking and moving around.
Hi Can anyone explain how to do the same on tradestation? It doesn't seem to work by using retracement so I used extension instead. I went to format and just left 0%, 50% and 100% checked and changed colours to all the same but it doesn't look the same as Als on the video course. Just want to see what others have done. Thank you.
Thanks for the tip PB. I was also looking for this. But here's a tweak: Instead of using the Fib Retracement tool, try the Trend-Based Fib Extension tool. That will measure the first leg distance from the top of the second leg, which I think is what you want, right? Also, all you need in that case is the "1" option, and it's cleaner on the chart. You can check "Extend Right" to ensure that the line will be there when the price gets close.
