Hi, i have been studying Al's course for almost a year now. I spend hours and hours a day studying and applying. His course has seriously helped me so much. I'm constantly watching a video, learning something, and usually within a day or so realizing that i'm seeing exactly what i just learned but seeing it in real time and using it to make money and it's an awesome feeling.
Okay so i primarily trade options on the SPY. For the most part i'm doing a lot of scalping because of how volatile the market has been as of late, but if i think i can catch a swing i will certainly go for it. I set a goal for myself. I wanted to have 30 consecutive days without a loss, exclusively trading the spy, and making at least $100 a day, and i just hit that so i'm pretty happy. No it's not a lot of money but i just wanted some sign that what im doing is making me consistent.
Anyways, im curious about switching over to futures to possibly try trading the Emini. I mainly like the idea of not having to worry about time decay on contracts because you can lose options trades easily just from buying the wrong option.
I'm guessing i can carry over what im doing with the spy to the emini just the same? Is the emini ticker symbol /ES? I heard there was also a micro emini?
I wanted to give you a little background up top to be able to help you awnser the question of whether or not you think its worth it for me to try switching over from spy to the emini and if there are any other advantages or disadvantages? Or just stick with whats currently working?
Yes. It is the same for short term trading. I would start with the micro contract (MES) with don't care size first.
For longer term trend following, you need to consider rolling over to next quarter's contract which can get a bit complicated.
