Whether Actual Risk can be used to set Protect Stop?
Actual risk for a position isn't known until it is entered so it can't be used from the start. For example, if you use a 6 point initial stop and the market moves 2 points (8 ticks) against your entry before going back in favor of the position, then the actual risk is 9 ticks since that was the smallest stop that could have been used without it being hit. There is no way to know if or how far the market will move against the entry though so the initial stop has to be based on price action, a money stop, etc. If the market does move back in favor of your position and has a strong close, then the stop can be trailed to the actual risk if you want to.
