Is there some EasyLanguage script for drawing a measured move in Tradestation? I was able to modify the fibonacci retracement line to approximate it but it is not as streamlined.
Thanks.
Al uses the customized fib retracement in Tradestation, and we all use it in our platform of choice as well. Why don't you like it? Not sure how it could be programatically improved to fulfill the need better...
I guess the only further change I don't seem to be able to make is limiting the distance to the right that the lines go. I would prefer for it to only last 5 to 10 bars rather than extending to the right indefinitely.
Thanks.
Yes, I have tested many platforms thru the years and all do the samething. When I started out, I drew the line manually and today I just don't draw it at all.
I think adding this feature would be pretty easy for a programmer but it is far from my reach. I am starting out with easy language (multicharts.net) just for fun, but I am a complete disaster so far... I will keep you updated if something suddenly happens that makes me a great programmer. Low probability bet!
@dbeers1227gmail-com, I know it's been sometime since you posted the question, but I just wanted to post here for future reference.
The way both Fibonacci Retracement and Extension work in NinjaTrader makes this task easily achieved. You decide how long the lines will be on the platform.
You probably got used with this issue by now, but perhaps this could help someone in the future.
Cheers,
