There is a lot of reference to wedge patterns etc. in the initial video although it has not been explained what exactly wedges are there. I am assuming these are covered in detail in the later videos but can someone confirm?
Hi Charu,
If you scroll through the videos index you will find #24A-#24E videos devoted to Wedges. But take your time, do not jump there now. Al designed course to be done from start to finish, although if you are not interested in Forex you can skip section #3 Forex Basics.
Yes. Many concepts that are being referred to in the earlier videos do get covered adequately later on. You can check out the index if in doubt.
If you feel that there are concepts which are still lacking in sufficient explanation, after you've finished the course, bring it to the notice of Richard(admin) or the other moderators and they will look into it.
Thanks Richard, that is helpful to know. and yes i did skip forex basics for now 🙂
Thanks for the response Abir, it's helpful!
I am struggling to clearly understand high 1, high 2 etc. and how to mark these. I am not sure if these concepts are explained in more detail in later videos, I am currently on "Charting Analysis" video 9B, there are a lot of references to high 1, high 2, low 1 , low 2 etc. Although the concepts have been explained in passing in various videos since the beginning, I feel they have not been covered from a beginner's point of view who has no idea about this terminology. Any suggestions on how to become more clear on these concepts?
You're pretty early on in the course, Charu.
I've gone through the course one time over and I can tell you this: Just keep studying. Take notes and ask your questions in the notes section. With time, you'll begin to answer your own questions.
Re: a quasi-answer to your question.
How I see it: Traders may count them differently in various contexts, but they function the same way. When a prior bar's high is breached, it can be marked as a H1/H2/H3 etc. When a prior bar's low is breached, it can be marked as a L1/L2/L3 etc.
Practice counting the breakouts (BO) as they occur in real time. Mark them all and observe. And you can also pull up as many charts as you'd like (on various time frames) and practice marking them.
Why don't you mark up a chart of your own and post it in the forum? Then you can have some more Senior Members take a look.
I am struggling to clearly understand high 1, high 2 etc. and how to mark these.
You're not the first and I don't think you will be the last :). There were several new members who have gone through the same trouble. Good thing is, they asked similar questions on the Support forum so I'd hope you search for them using the search option available near the top right area after you've opened 'Support Forum' page from the main menu bar. Members have resolved these doubts and I think going through the numerous examples(as the questions pertaining to this topic have been asked numerous times) will help you resolve your doubt. For example, I got these links by just searching 'H1' in the support forum search function - H1 H2 and L1 L2 – 02 Chart Basics and Price Action – Brooks Trading Course Support Forum and this H1, H2? – 44 Trading Tight Bear Channels – Brooks Trading Course Support Forum
Hope you refer to these. That being said, sometimes these H1/L1 or H2/L2 markings are used quite flexibly. Don't hold on to the definition rigidly - you'll see as you move on in the course that there are implied H1/L1, H2/L2 as well. For now, I won't confuse you. You can do the aforesaid and you'll be set for now.
I am not sure if these concepts are explained in more detail in later videos
They are. They come up repeatedly as they are crucial to PA trading. By the time you complete the course once, you'll have a pretty solid grip on this.
Although the concepts have been explained in passing in various videos since the beginning, I feel they have not been covered from a beginner's point of view who has no idea about this terminology.
I think many of us have struggled with the terminologies early on. Many of us, if not all struggled wih something or the other as the course is something unique that you don't come across otherwise. You can refer to the "Glossary of terms" section here Price Action Trading Glossary | Brooks Trading Course which might be helpful. If stuck, try visualising the concepts or even better - make a sketch as per the definitions.
Hope this turns out to be helpful. Happy learning!
Hi Demetrius,
Thank you for responding. It helps to know that I should just keep studying for now and not worry if somethings are not 100% clear as they might resolved as I study more and go through the course. When you say mark Break outs, do you mean marking H1/H2/H3 or L1/L2/L3 as I understand them?
Hi Abir, thanks for responding!! This is helpful, I will look at the links you shared and keep in mind that I shouldn't be too hung up on the definitions as they will get clearer over time!
