You probably have access to Dr. Brooks' Encyclopedia if you're reading this. If you do not, IMHO you should, but that's a separate topic...
I've archived chart patterns since long before discovering BPA. Now, with BPA as my focus, marking and cataloging charts is an evergreen activity. Hence, I had to come up with a way to efficiently catalog and store charts and, most importantly, retrieve specific charts on demand.
This sparked curiosity about how others go about this process. Obviously, Dr Brooks uses Powerpoint for mark up and storage, and for retrieval we use his lexicon of abbreviations and the iSpring embed on his website.
I find both Powerpoint and Dr. Brooks' abbreviations onerous, and use neither for my own purposes (just personal preference). What do you use?
Hi jivers,
Congratulations on finding a cataloguing method less onerous than Dr. Brooks'. When you have some free time would you mind sharing a few examples of it with us?
Have a good day and much profitability,
CH

Mr. Carpet - to reiterate my earlier comments about PowerPoint and Dr. Brooks' acronym system, they represent opinion only. I used PowerPoint throughout my career-before-trading and don't like it, and find the acronym taxonomy to be complex.
To clarify the obvious, the content of Dr. Brooks' work is without parallel. The taxonomy he created is both thorough and logical. It's just not something I wanted to adopt for my purposes.
You may be pleased to learn that I have loosely adopted the classifications created in your mindmap as an organizing taxonomy.
As for the retrieval mechanism, the intent of my post is to learn from others regarding the processes they've implemented. So, do tell...
