Hi all.
In other words, when looking to the left for Support and Resistance, is it a good idea to take the overnight market into account or should I look no further left than 9:30 (EST)?
I'm located in North America and generally trade in the mornings.
You have to trade the chart in front of you. Pick either the globex chart or the session one and trade it. Al uses the session one and, if you are learning, I would recommend to stick to it as well because you can then compare your reading with Al's and improve your skills day after day.
Agree with what ludopuig says. Al does note you can trade either and he just prefers the day session to be in sync with the stock market. Al does refer to Globex high/low levels in his trading room though, as they are significant, so if you do trade day session make a note of Globex levels.
I personally trade the full Globex as like yesterday, you can often pick up on trends before day session opens. The big guys are there 24 hours a day and Globex can get active at any time - but 7am ET onwards is good for daily trading.
Put a small day session ES 5-min chart to the side if you want to see what Al is trading.
