Hello,
Today was an FOMC minutes day and it create a decent loss for me later in the day (giving away over half of my profits), as I was unaware of the situation. My question is, how do you know when events like this will occur? I monitor the federal reserve site for the FOMC announcement days, but was ignorant to the "minutes." I even looked today (8/18) on the Federal Reserve website and saw no indication of an event (as the next announcement should be in September).
What outlets / sources of information are best for identifying impactful market catalysts (such as the FOMC announcements and/or "minutes")?

Read economic calendars for each day before trading session begins. I use Myfxbook.com. Is very organized and if you download the app, it will notify programmed news for the day. It is not the only website out there, there are a lot of them. Best of all, everything is free.
