I am still going through the online courses. I have a question on the meaning of "buy on bull trends and sell on bear trends". I only trade stocks and options. If I am not in position, how to sell in bear trends? Does it mean buy put options? Thanks
I think it's just simply means that you shouldn't buy in a clear bear trend and you shouldn't sell in a clear bull trend. Simple as it is.
Hi Ling
It means buy for any good reason in bull trends, and vice versa bear trends.
I infer it also means, you could take a reversal if you had the right setup (bottoming patern in right context) but remembering it would be low probability.😀
Sell in bear trend means
For option Segment
It is either buy a put (If you are option buyer-less risky) or sell a call (If you are option seller/writer- highly risky). It means that you are going to take advantage of downward trend
For Stocks & Futures
It is selling in case of bear trend i.e. taking a short position in bear trend
