Do crude oil and soybean futures have a start, middle and end like e-mini, or are they more like forex
Soybeans is a lot like the Emini. The day session has a start middle and end like Al lays out in his video. Trading on Soybeans is very thin outside of the Day Session hours (CBOT Agricultural RTH Hours). Crude Oil has 3 distinctive sessions Asia, London and US that are all heavily traded.... So in this regard Crude is a lot like Forex. However with Crude Oil, the American Day session starts at 9:00 EST and ends at 14:30. So unlike Forex the US session does have a known start and end time.
Where do you find the schedules
There aren't any published RTH hours anymore because when the Covid19 pandemic hit, all of the trading pits closed permanently. So for derivatives trading, RTH has no meaning any more Trading is mostly open 23 hours a day 5 days a week.
The official RTH hours for the Equity Index products were brought into line with the stock market hours.
CBOT agricultural products still have a trading halt before and after the traditional RTH hours, so its recognisable on the chart.
Nymex products are continuous 23/5 but have noticeable volume spikes at the beginning and end of the old RTH session.
For Crude Oil I watch the Globex (ETH) chart, but I stop trading at the RTH Close.
Soybeans looked lousy today but Corn (ZC) and Wheat (ZW) looked insane. Just checked the volumes and Corn has highest volume of the Ags products.
So everything is 9:30-16:00 ET ?
what about crude oil Asia/London , is that a different time schedule than normal market hours?
