Isn't Al proposing to choose the biggest possible timeframe where the pattern is still clearly visible?
That would mean that this chart (1H) is the wrong timeframe to view that pattern in.
4H or even daily would show a simple measured move.
PS: I noticed that this post is old but i see it from a higher timeframe 😉

There are no wrong time frames, Al recommends looking for HTF in channel BOs but, other than that, you have to trade the chart in front of you. Here, Basileus was trading the 1H chart but he could also have chosen the ones you are bringing up. Markets are fractal so you will always have LTF patterns inside HTF patterns.
Because of that, Measured Moves should be seen in different time frames, making them a reliable tool for traders.
