I switched to Hollow Candles a few months back, aka candles with trend, they took a little time to get used to but they're easier for me to read now. I've been working my way through and enjoying the BTC for ~10 days and I've been wondering if I need to modify anything....

Not really. You need to be clear on these differences before you trade. Here's a good explanation:

Once you are clear on this you will have no trouble applying price action. Nothing to modify other than your interpretation of those candles.
