Hello everyone,
I am a member of this trading course and I am curious about how other members split their time between studying the course and actual trading or watching the charts.
Currently, I spend about 7 hours a day on trading, which includes watching the charts and watching the video course. However, I find it difficult to focus on the course while waiting for a setup to appear, and I worry that I may miss out on important bits in the course.
I have already finished reading the three books in the course, and I believe that the best way for me to get better at trading is through experience. However, I want to make sure that I am also continuing to learn and improve my knowledge.
I am thinking of splitting my time between 2 hours a day focused on watching the video course and the rest of the day watching the charts. However, I would like to hear the thoughts and suggestions of other members in the group. How do you split your time between studying and trading? Do you have any tips or recommendations on how I could structure my approach better?
Thank you in advance for your input. I look forward to hearing from you
Hello,
I struggled for some time finding the perfect balance between studying, trading, and working a job. I trade only untill bar 24 but in this time, I watch the charts intensely and write notes to every single bar, look at the encyclopedia when needed etc.
After this, I study and will glance at the chart from time to time, but I mostly study. I also mark up yesterdays charts and think a lot about what happened before beginning to study the course. I have already read the books, but did the same thing here.
I live in Denmark so I trade in the afternoon, but there is still plenty of time to study in the evening and weekends. Just cancel everything else. 🙂
I just want to share this note-taking technique for taking notes bar by bar since it works very well for me. You might also find it useful. When I have traded and taken notes live to the first 24 bars, I feel okay leaving the market and allowing myself time to study.
Thanks for your explanation and detailed example. I might start that and maybe try allocating a little more time on studying. I now plan to give it maybe about a year of studying (which is in about 4 months from now) before I put more emphasis on gaining experience now
