I trade the RMH 5 minute charts. I'm having trouble with overcrowding my chart with S/R lines. I.E yesterday's H/L/C/O, this week's H/L/C/O, etc.
I also find that when using larger time frames for S/R, I get really confused with the general direction for the upcoming day.
How can I keep my charts cleaner and not get confused when looking at larger time frames for S/R?
Hi Ari,
The HTF lines come into play mostly when the bars on those charts are about to close. For example, the weekly OHLC levels become important on Friday. Monthly ones a day or two before the end of the month, hourly a few minutes before the close of hourly bars, and so on. So you can setup multiple charts based on timeframe like Al does and have the HTF levels shown on those charts only, then reference those charts at the end of the week or month etc. That way your 5M chart remains clean.
Al's setup:
The most immediately critical prior levels are usually yesterday's High/Low and Close, as well as Globex High/Low if there's an overnight range (for futures traders). Most traders don't use yesterday's open so you can skip that one.
Hope that helped!

Thank you so much for the reply!
So say for example, I'm trading the 5-minute chart, but on the hourly chart, we are approaching a support or resistance level, I would pay attention to how the PA on the 5-minute chart behaves at that level and make a decision from there?
Yes, the hourly S/R is definitely very important, including the hourly EMA. Al analyzes multiple timeframes before the start of every session and frequently throughout the day so if you purchase some pre-2022 historic webinars for study you'll learn exactly how he does it. Additionally there is mention of timeframes throughout the course, like Video 9C: Higher and lower time frames
