Hello Michael B, and thank you for the response.
All I can say is that I feel since coming back here, and questioning why my trading style doesn't Match Al's, and trying to figure out why, gave me a totally new confidence.
I have for the first time in my trading journey realized I have my trading style and it doesn't match Al and that's fine because I am having a steady growth in account and thats all that matters.
Trying to match my trading to others is how we all have to learn but after awhile it's a mixed up mashed up buncha conflicting signals.
I have had many teachers and some I see the market more like (l tend to see the market more like Linda Rashke but trade more like Al)
I have been marking up my charts as a daily routine again now and re-see that I can trade well on my own.
I only trade support and resistance. Triangles and wedges can create support and resistance but I only trade the horizontal peaks and patterns of those.
I have found a community that doesn't care how I trade although its different which I like. That's the difference here. There's only one right way. It's how Al would trade it. (Nobody says that but you are "corrected" quite quickly).
Al is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't be able to trade profitably without his ideas.
But now I have to focus on improving MY STYLE.
So yes you are totally and utterly correct...
What's MY style?
What's MY plan?
Wheres MY stop based on MY view and in relation to MY target?
I like taking small losses sometimes and re-entering many times, othertimes I'll hold.
Oh the life of a discretionary trader.
Again you said it... your equity curve doesn't lie!
I'm not trading my equity per say but if I do what I think is right and slowly it climbs then I'm DOING IT RIGHT no matter how. (Obviously within risk tolerances)
Trusting myself has given me a sense of accomplishment and confidence as I know I can trust in myself and not trying to abdicate away my issues as external has helped alot.
It's not that I was NOT trading like Al, it was that I was not trading like ME.
And that's all you can do.
I know my posts always sound kinda esoteric and non-concrete but that's where the finest of fine details lie and that's what we need to get to.
If you cant trust yourself. You aren't there yet. I'm just realizing that. I have a long way to go but that's where I'm at. Looking inside now and taking full responsibility for P/L.
Cheers my friend!
