Dear All,
From today, March 1, 2023, we are retiring the Daily Setups charts issued each day.
In its place we will have the new slides that Al creates each day for the Encyclopedia. These slides will be in a new presentation - available to Encyclopedia members - that will be refreshed each month. The BTC Members Daily Setups copy updating will stop next month, with the March 31 slide being the last. Near 4 years of Daily Setups charts will remain available online to all BTC and Encyclopedia members.
So, for Encyclopedia members, new slides will be available from today until March 31. At that point, the Encyclopedia will be updated to include all March slides. We then start over on Monday April 3 with April's new slides (removing March slides from presentation). Hope this makes sense. 🙂
We also plan to add end of day video reviews to expand on E slides and will inform everyone later when this service starts.
I will be issuing a survey as soon as possible on this and other services for your feedback on what services you would like to see.

Just a request, currently the new slides are available for a whole month for us to review.
From what I understand, when what you have mentioned starts being implemented the slide for the last day of the month would only be available for one day and then would get included in the ocean that our encyclopedia is 🙂
I can think of 2 ways that would make it a little better for us, because otherwise if one misses viewing the last day's slide on that one day, it is practically lost.
1. Let the last day's(or last week's) slide(s) be up for a day or two in the new month.
Or
2. Have two sections (like currently we have 12 sections for Daily Setups) one with slides of the current month, and one with slides of the previous month.
Thanks
Good point Shubh,
Yes, I did give this some thought after posting! Maybe best to have a 6 week set rolling over. So can populate PPT from March 1 to mid April, then drop March. Would that work Ok? This should be better than having 2 presentation as easier to manage.
Or could have 2 months rolling?
Thoughts?
I feel 6 weeks or 2 months rolling both would be fine and would serve the purpose. If either of the 2 is easier to implement or maintain then that can be the way to go..
Ok, good. Will decide which is most effective time-wise later.
One more quick question. Tomorrow, I intend to place march 2 slides at top, so no need to click down to latest slides. Saves trouble as I do sometimes forget to change button link! Does reverse ordering work for you?
Yeah, I don't think reverse order should be much of an issue, it'd do just fine.
I have one more query:
Would we get the encyclopedia slides from Feb'23 the old fashioned way (on the encyclopedia page)?
Because the Daily Setups page has latest updates (slides from March 23) & the encyclopedia page's last update was in the beginning of Feb (so slides from Jan 23).
February update in progress and will be complete later today (Friday).
Keeping the "New slides" PPT beyond that will be duplication with new Emini Setups having all new slides. Could maybe move new slides PPT to Encyclopedia page leaving Daily Setups as archive resource.
It appears that in this new approach, multiple slides are produced for each day, whereas previously it was essentially the one master slide.
Given this, at the end of 6 weeks to two months, this will result in a very lengthy slide progression. As such, it would be helpful to have the same accordion effect as used on subheadings within the encyclopedia.
A couple other questions:
Has a single, "master" or summary slide that concludes each day's observations into a single slide been considered? This is basically the old approach to daily set-ups - but that wrap-up is something I personally find useful.
Secondly, the old approach included indications of good swing entries. This has also been very useful as a point of comparison for my entries and / or chart markup. I'd really encourage you guys to carry that convention forward, as it is very useful for those of us who are still new to BPA. This may be most appropriate for the summary slide mentioned above, since swing entries are not a convention within the encyclopedia itself.
Thanks
I agree with this. Lot of slide real estate is wasted to explain concepts that a single Master slide or two would do with Swing setups shown with boxes.
My apologies in advance if the reason was explained before, but not clear of what we are trying to solve with this new approach? Thanks!
Not certain I’m understanding this. Taking Friday, March 3, as an example:
The first slide represents comments on the overall day. Comparable slides will no longer appear after this month’s end. The following slides are new encyclopedia entries based on the day’s trading and those will continue to be created on a daily basis.
Is this correct?
I agree that the blue boxes are very helpful to me as a beginner. When I analyze the chart myself, my primary goal is to identify where Al would have put the blue box. It's very unfortunate to lose this simple but very valuable feature. It was not clear in the poll that voting for a video meant losing the blue boxes.
Agreed on the multiple slides, can we somehow make it in one or two slides?
How is it that this post can go unanswered? It raises reasonable concerns about a change that impacts the entire community of traders who have purchased the encyclopedia.
Apparently I would rather prefer the encyclopedia slides to be put in normal chronologicall order!
Hi Richard,
I have been thinking - given that how fast the encyclopedia will grow from here on out, with it receiving much more frequent updates - would it be possible to date the slides that are being added?
I think it will help keep track of new updates and distinguish them from the encyclopedia slides as they are now. Having already gone through vast amount of encyclopedia already(and I'd like to finish this whole thing in my first go once), it would be very painful go repeat the ones I have already gone through once more.
